How much does a martial arts school website cost?
A legitimate martial arts school website can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000+ to build. The low end is a reused template with your logo dropped in, the high end is usually an agency trying to learn what a martial arts school website is on your dime.
What the price actually buys
The range is wide because “a website” describes four very different products. Here’s what a martial arts school gets at each level, based on the few hundred martial arts websites we’ve worked on.
| Option | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| DIY page builder | $0–$300/yr | Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy. Fast to launch, slow to load, invisible to AI crawlers. Fine as a placeholder, expensive as a funnel. |
| Template shop | $1,000–$2,500 | A themed WordPress install with your logo dropped in. Same schedule-as-PDF problems, plus plugin maintenance you now own. |
| Custom, martial arts specific | $3,000–$8,000 | Built around the trial funnel by someone who knows what a fundamentals class is. Readable schedule, bookable trials, sub-second mobile. |
| General agency | $6,000–$15,000 | Good design, usually. But the first $3,000 is them learning your business, and the funnel logic is borrowed from dentists and plumbers. |
When it costs more
Multiple locations, a members-only area, online course sales, or a custom booking system all push a build past $5,000 legitimately. So does bad photography — if you need a shoot, budget $500–$1,500 locally and don’t pay an agency’s markup on it.
What shouldn’t cost more: “SEO setup” as a line item (it should be in the build), “mobile optimisation” (there is no other kind), or a CMS licence you’ll never log into.
When it costs less
A single-program school with one location, decent photos already, and a schedule that fits on one screen is a simpler build. Ask for a quote scoped to that — a good shop will come in under the top of the range rather than pad it.
The number that matters more than price
According to Gymdesk’s 2026 benchmark of 4,594 schools, the average member pays about $100 per month. Our estimate is a bit higher, closer to $125 per month.
Look at your own membership numbers to find your true average. On average, our websites generate 2.4 times more trial lesson bookings per month, resulting in nearly double the usual sign-up rate.
So the real question is: how much would you be willing to pay to double your sign-up rate?
MatGrowth builds martial arts websites for $497 to start plus $147/mo, or $3,800 one-time. That’s the “custom, martial arts specific” row above, priced as a subscription so the setup is cheap and we stay accountable for it working. Full pricing here.
